Blue Mystery Snail
Introducing the Blue Mystery Snail, a delightful addition to your aquatic community. These snails are not only friendly to other tank inhabitants but also excel in keeping your aquarium clean by consuming algae and debris. Here's why the Blue Mystery Snail stands out:
- Can grow to the size of a golf ball
- Can live up to 4 years with proper care
- Will not overpopulate your tank
- Lays egg sacks above the water line for easy removal
- Requires a good source of calcium for healthy shell growth
- Hardy and resilient, with a unique shade of blue
Additionally, it's important to note that smaller snails may need protection from powerful filtration systems and that Mystery Snails may initially appear dormant when introduced to a new tank. As for their color, the shade of blue may vary depending on the lighting and substrate in your aquarium.
How to Acclimate Your Mystery Snail:
Place the snail in a small container shell-side down.
Slowly add tank water to the container until it covers about one-third of the snail’s body.
Allow the snail to acclimate. They typically begin to open up within 5 minutes to an hour, depending on their comfort level.
Once the snail is active, gently place it shell-side down into your tank.
Avoid flipping them upside down, and be patient—giving them time to adjust ensures a smooth transition to their new home!
Snail Disclaimer:
Please note that mystery snails may appear different outside of the water and under various lighting conditions. Natural variations in color and pattern are completely normal and part of what makes each snail unique!
Due to their active and adventurous nature, some minor wear and tear on their shells may be visible. Occasional shell imperfections or slight erosion can also occur depending on the breeder’s water conditions—this is purely cosmetic and does not affect the snail’s health or activity.

Good size snail but shell was in poor condition, cracked along the edges and discoloured yellow/green from algae when growing I assume. Otherwise healthy though, dissapointed as the quality of snails from AB in the past has been stellar.
Very nice blue, snail is very active.
Package came fast and packed very well.
Great service n quick delivery. All 3 doing well. I would have brought more but to dear. Will later.
Added to established tank, plants galore and shrimp hiding out so thought it safe to pop them in as no other fish. Well.. popped on in with the six galaxy rasboras who were happy and doing their thing. Within 48 hours fish were acting off, popped them in large clear breeding box with guppy grass and sponge filter. No signs of white spot until they were covered. Treatment stared asap but the dropped like flies, within 4 hours all six were dead. Snail remained with shrimp and was gone not long after. Tank has been treated, wanted to rip it apart after that but have had a heater going as high as can be and medicated thoroughly with nets etc. Desperately want to purchase again but they’re so small and fragile that if they drop, there’s no chance. They were all so gorgeous and I’ve never seen something go down so fast.
We had a good 48 hours or so I guess 🤷♀️
The one I got was awesome I’d bought a blue from elsewhere and it honestly looked more gold but this one does look true blue more often than not definitely recommend.
