Alternanthera reineckii ‘Mini’ is magnificent little plant that can certainly add energy in the aquarium. It is characterised by its dwarf stature and its ability to develop vivid coloration. Much like the regular sized Alternanthera reineckii, its colour varies from bronze to deep red depending on light intensity. This plant can be used to carpet foreground or to form a bushy hedge in the midground. Coupled with light-green plants such as Hemianthus callitrichoides ‘Cuba’ and a strong contrast can be achieved.
Tissue culture plants are grown in sterile conditions so they are guaranteed to be free from pests, algae and pathogens. To use just simply rinse off the nutrient medium gel, split the plants into portions, and plant the portions into the aquarium.

A reasonable amount received despite a rather heavy-handed Postie for this delivery (VERY grateful for the sturdy styro box and packaging). The discreet splashes of colour are perfect 😁 I guestimate 80% of plantings will survive but put any losses to 1/ my lack of knowledge re: water parameter reqs for this particular species and 2/ a weekend emergency that necessitated a massive water replacement after near loss of the whole tank 😳
Nonetheless, I DO shop around and this purchase remains good value; the tank inhabitants are already very friendly with the new growth that is proving hardy enough to withstand all sorts of rough attention.
