Vinegar Eels Starter Culture – Easy Setup Guide

Your starter culture is already provided by us. Just follow these simple steps to get your culture going:

✅ What You’ll Need

• A clean bottle or jar (1–2L is perfect)
• Apple cider vinegar (with the “mother” is best, but not required)
• Dechlorinated water (or bottled water)
• A small piece of apple (optional but recommended)
• Your Vinegar Eels Starter Culture (provided by us)

🧪 Step-by-Step Setup

1. Prepare the Mix
   
• Mix 50% apple cider vinegar + 50% water in your bottle/jar.
• Example: 500ml vinegar + 500ml water.
3. Add Food (Optional but Helps)
   
• Drop in 1–2 small slices of apple.
• This helps feed the culture and keeps it strong.
5. Add the Starter Culture
   
• Pour in the vinegar eels starter culture you received from us.
7. Cover the Container
   
• Do NOT seal it airtight.
• Use paper towel, cloth, or loose cap so air can get in.
9. Store It
   
• Keep at room temperature, out of direct sunlight.
• No need for light or aeration.

⏳ When Is It Ready

• After 7–14 days, the culture will start producing lots of vinegar eels.
• You may see them swimming near the glass (they look like tiny white threads).

🐠 How to Harvest (Simple Method)

1. Use a syringe, pipette, or turkey baster.
2. Suck some liquid from near the top of the bottle (that’s where they gather).
3. Optionally, filter through cotton and rinse with fresh water before feeding.
4. Feed directly to your fry.

🔁 Maintenance Tips

• Top up with more 50/50 vinegar + water when the level gets low.
• Add a new apple slice every 1–2 months.
• One culture can last many months if maintained.

💡 Pro Tip

For continuous supply, start a second bottle after 2–3 weeks using some from your first culture.
